Sustainability Tours - NNIC has developed a project brief, however the Sustainable Living Hub project has been prioritised, along with the Walking Track project, as both of these projects have simiilar aims in relation to appropriate tourism for the village.
Walking Track - Stage 2 of the Walking Track proposal is now complete. This stage consisted of scoping the actual track, negotiating with relevant landlolders, assessing the DA and other requirements.
Sustainable Living Hub - job creation. marketing platform, skills transfer and development, (also identified as a strategy re Food Security (community kitchen), Energy (demonstration clean energy house), Housing and the Builit Environment (home for info re building regs and skills etc, demonstration hemp building) . We have bought the land and have started work on the site design. See the project website for more info.
LETS - an ongoing discussion and attempts are being made to resurrect LETS in Nimbin.
NBN - A stakeholder meeting to address queries from the community was held at 5pm 25th February at the Nimbin Bowling Club. Click here to read the Q+As generated from that meeting as provided by NBN Co in April 2014.
The meeting addressed both the proposal at the Showgrounds, as well as the second proposed facility off Anderson Rd, servicing the north of Nimbin.
