Last Year

More than 1,000 people flocked to see the inaugural Sustainable House Design Competition & Expo held at the A&I Hall in Bangalow, NSW on 13 September 2014. Sustainable Housing for Life Design Competition

Architects, designers, community members and young people, get your pencils sharp, design programs active and minds ready for this year’s Sustainable Housing for Life design competition. We are looking for the most sustainable modular home designed for the sub-tropics. Sustainable, Modular and prefabricated homes are gaining popularity in Australia. They’re simple modular structures that can be easily adapted to suit the changing needs of the people living in the dwelling.

This year we invite you to think creatively to design a sustainable home that is adaptable for people to use at different stages of their life.

Sustainable home design creates healthy, active, inclusive and vibrant communities. This year, designs will demonstrate Ecological, Social & Economic Sustainability. The Social aspect of sustainable design incorporates Universal Design and Flexible Housing.
